'Paw'-cific Coast Highway: Roadtripping with Dogs (Part 1)

Ever since I moved to the West Coast I wanted to take some time to explore the Pacific Coast Highway. Being a student I didn’t really have the time or funds to do it. I also wanted it to be a solo journey, but being a woman and travelling by yourself can be dangerous.

6 years after moving to Washington, I finally set off on my 10 day, 3000 mile journey along the Pacific coast. However, I wasn’t alone. I had my two travel companions, Meelo and Morty!

Meelo has made several trips with me before: Montana, Oregon, South Lake Tahoe… to name a few. Little Morty was still pretty new to the idea of the car and the longest trip he’d been on was 40 minutes and he pooped in my car twice and cried the whole time. But he was almost 8 months old by this trip so things should be better? Maybe? I hoped?

My journey has been over for a few months, but I’d like to share my experiences because I’m sure others have wondered about taking their fur friends along on such a journey and I found some great places that the dogs really loved. So why not share!?

So this will be my ‘Paw’-cfic Coast Highway travel series. To start I’ll give a little intro to our little travel team:
